This is an N Scale (1:160) model of Victorian Railways' AV Class carriage.
This model requires (HAVC) AV Car Chassis (Included in purchase), Microtrains 1017 4 Wheel Lightweight passenger car trucks with adjustable couplers and painting to complete.
The carriages were introduced into the Victorian Railways in 1897 and ran until the mid 1960's. Between 1962 and 1970 the carriages were scrapped.
At the end of construction the number group was AV1 - AV26.
Between 1897 and 1907 these cars were in service with the OVERLAND (Melbourne - Adelaide) as OA Cars.
Cars OA 31, 32, 34 and 35 were cars AV 31, 26, 5 and 11 respectively.
